Matrixyl

Matrixyl 8% Strength

Matrixyl 3000 claims to increase our skin’s own collagen production by as much as 350%.  If that’s true then it will definitely make a difference to our appearance!  Without getting too scientific, in a nutshell when the collagen in our skin breaks Matrixyldown, it changes from being a string like structure into smaller ‘bits’ called peptides.  Whenever this happens, our body reacts by producing more collagen in a attempt to heal the damage.  So, it stands to reason that if we introduce more of these peptides to our skin, our skin is going produce more and more collagen.  Basically we are fooling our body into ‘healing’ damage that does not actually exist, if that makes sense!  This theory is the whole basis behind  Matrixyl 3000.  It’s been found to work best when combined with Hyaluronic acid because HA helps the Matrixyl to absorb into the skin and is also a powerful moisturizer, holding up to 1000 times its own weight in water!

It’s important to note that not all Matrixyl products are made equal because some have a very tiny amount of the active ingredient, whereas others have much more.  Some products also add in alcohols, perfumes and all the usual stuff that goes into standard ‘off the shelf’ anti-aging creams.  These are to be avoided!

Features

  • Mimics broken down collagen and fools our skin into producing more
  • Usually combined with Hyaluronic acid to help absorption
  • Claims to decrease wrinkles by up to 33% in 3 weeks
  • Claims to increase skin thickness and fullness after 4 months of use
  • One of the most inexpensive of all the top anti-aging creams (although there are some very high priced brands of Matrixyl on the market as well)

Benefits and Results

OK, first the results of our own testing.  There are no current free trials or special offers for this product, but we were more interested in finding one with a high concentration of Matrixyl and Hyaluronic acid. Plus we wanted to avoid all the useless perfumes and fillers that many companies use to bulk up their anti-aging creams.  Did this product work at all?  Yes, it did to a certain extent.  There is no way that we saw as much as 33% reduction in wrinkles, but we did see SOME improvement after the first few weeks.  It covers nicely on the skin and absorbs fast, so this is another one that is great for under makeup.  There was no skin irritation or redness.  Over the longer term we saw more noticeable results but again, not as much as 33%. However, there was definitely a difference in skin tone and just an overall fresher look to our complexions

Looking at the results others have had, it seems that a lot of users combine Matrixyl 3000 with other anti-aging skin products. They say that Matrixyl enhances their other skin creams, but this is possibly the Hyaluronic acid that’s working to help their other products penetrate the skin.  However, there’s no getting away from the fact that a lot of people LOVE this product.  The vast majority of users do not claim any outstanding results, but they do say that it has worked for them and they see some improvement in wrinkles and skin tone.  However, beware of products with very tiny concentrations of Matrixyl because these do NOT work.

Studying information and buying habits of customers who have been using this anti-aging solution for more than one year, they commonly buy it along with 100% pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum, Glycolic Acid 35% Gel Peel and Neutralizer skin pH balancer (to restore the PH balance of your skin after peeling).  Obviously these are customers who take anti-aging and skin appearance very seriously!  The good news is that you will probably get two months use from the HA Serum, the Gel Peel and the Neutralizer so all in it still works out a pretty good deal.

So just to clarify: These are the products frequently bought together.

  • Matrixyl 3000
  • 100% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum
  • Glycolic Acid 35% Gel Peel
  • Neutralizer Skin pH Balancer

Conclusion

Matrixyl 3000 is worth the money, providing you purchase a brand with a high enough concentration of Matrixyl and Hyaluronic acid.  However, it’s not as effective as some of the other products in our wrinkle cream reviews. It did produce some reduction in wrinkles but nothing outstanding.  That being said, it’s safe to use and does not cause irritation.  It gives you a nice healthy looking skin tone after a few weeks of use and this gets even better over time.  If you have a lot of wrinkles (or think you do!) and sagging skin, this product is probably not going to do the job for you. But if you just have some fine lines and want to help eliminate those and get a generally more youthful look to your skin, you will like Matrixyl and it won’t break the bank.  The best serum on the market contains 8% Matrixyl and 1% HA.  There is no other product out there with a higher concentration of the active ingredient and you can buy it here through Amazon.
